Banana Republic has created a holiday capsule collection of 19th Century Russian-inspired fashion to coincide with the launching of the movie, Anna Karenina. The collection will arrive in stores in late October to coincide with the release of the movie on November 9th.
The
film's wardrobe designer, Jacqueline Durran, who worked with the
retailer in creating the line of clothing and accessories states, "You
take (faux) fur, jewels, lace, textures a bit of color .... and reapply
them." The collection contains 75 pieces with prices ranging from
$29.50 to $500. According to the creative director for Banana Republic,
Simon Kneen, there are lots of military inspired fashions in the
menswear collection, a notable silhouette in the film.
