Star Style: Celebrity Mothers and Daughters

What do Zoe Kravitz, Katy Perry, Lourdes Leon and Selena Gomez have in common? They share their style with their moms! People magazine (9/26/2011) and US Weekly (11/7/2011) both ran features recently showing how some of the world's trendiest celebrity moms and daughters dress alike. The People magazine article even cites a new study which says that mothers are copying their teenage daughters' style. And when asked by InStyle magazine (December 2011), "Who is your favorite person to shop with?," Dianna Agron said she prefers shopping with her mom!

One Dress, Two Ways

Certain prints are timeless and great for every age group. Here we are both wearing Pucci-inspired dresses; Dana's is worn as a top, tucked into jeans, while Susan's is worn traditionally as a dress.

The dress is by ECI New York.  While this particular dress is from a past season, ECI has some pretty pattern dresses now available at Nordstrom which also can be styled across generations.
While this item was very reasonably priced, why utilize it just one way? The same garment can have a double life as either a dress or a top, depending on how you style it.
Dana has transformed her frock into a fun blouse by tucking her dress into Paige Denim Leggings and adding fun black Vince Camuto open toe booties (which are half-price on Amazon now!)

Welcome to Like Mother, Like Daughter!

We are two generations and we share a mutual love for fashion and the strong belief that you don't have to dress your age.

We believe in cross-dressing: cross-generational dressing, that is!

We always loved shopping together but when we both found ourselves working at the same major fashion retailer, we realized how much we enjoyed sharing clothes, raiding each other's closets, sharing fashion tips, and getting ready for work together and acting as each other's stylists.

We think fashion is a great way for mothers and daughters to bond, and we are launching this blog to inspire mothers and daughters to bond with each other over fashion, break down the generational fashion boundaries and effectively double their wardrobes by sharing clothes.

We believe in the transformational power of clothing. The clothes don't make the woman, but we believe that feeling great in what you are wearing can give you a new attitude, increase your confidence and be both empowering and fun. We also strongly believe that you don't have to spend a lot to look great.

Here is what you will find at Like Mother, Like Daughter:
