InStyle Magazine: Sparkly Tank Tops for Every Age
This month's edition of InStyle Magazine includes a great feature called "Fashion Director vs. Fashion Assistant," which demonstrates how the magazine's director of fashion, Cindy Weber Cleary, and her assistant, Alexandra Michler, style the same sparkly tank to make it work for their respective ages.
At first glance a garment like a sparkly tank top might seem to be more in the domain of the young "Fashion Assistant," but the elder "Fashion Director" makes the glitzy tank appear much more grown up by adding heels and a tailored blazer.
Meanwhile, you might expect the younger "Fashion Assistant" to style her sparkly top for evening, but she takes a surprising twist on the tank by styling it down for day instead. She adds a trench coat, colorful jeans and tough little shearling booties to the make the outfit casual yet unexpected and fun.
We love how InStyle demonstrates not only how the same garment can be great for different generations, but also how a single item- in this case, a shimmery tank top- can be styled for work or weekend, inspiring us to make the most of what's in our wardrobes.
